American Rustic Builders traces its existence to 1996. When living in Chicago, IL, I was looking to have my dream log home constructed.  As a Union Iron Worker, and the Superintendent for one of the largest steel companies in the Midwest my dream was to build a log home to help bring back memories of visits with my grandmother at her log cabin located in Old Mission, MI.

  After over a year of speaking with many log home companies, I realized this industry was only interested in selling log home packages. Most knew little about the construction.

  In the spring of 1996 I approached my brother Tim, who was working in the financial industry to start a log home construction business. Together we founded Midwest Log Home Construction which has blossomed into American Rustic Builders. The log home construction business idea quickly became a passion. Since then we have built over 240 Log homes, Christian camps as well as commercial buildings in many states from South Carolina to Wisconsin Dells to Gunnison Colorado to Elk Mountain Wyoming.

  Fast forward to today. American Rustic Builders is a strong recognized leader in the Log & Heavy Timber industry with many manufacturers calling us for Construction knowledge as well as other services including maintenance and restoration.
